Systematic quality assurance in all phases of production.

AM quality manufactured to OE standards

As an OEM and “hundred-year-old” pioneer of modern brake pads, Honeywell has also set very high quality standards for aftermarket pads, which by far exceed the minimum requirements legislated by standards such as ELV, REACH and ECE R90. Honeywell's aftermarket brake pads not only offer outstanding braking performance and service life, but also superb function that accurately fits every brake caliper. They also emit lowest noise and dust, and are manufactured using eco-friendly processes.

Top secret: Same base materials for OEM and aftermarket

Irrespective of the disc brake pad, the selection of up to 30 base materials is the same for the OE and aftermarket. One secret to achieving this quality is the up-front investment in highest grade base materials, the adhesive, binding material, metallic materials and the various fibers and granules. However, the real secret lies in the correct portioning and sequence of mixing as well as the chemical-, thermal- and mechanical production processes used - the specialist know-how that evolved over a century.

Quality in every part: For OE and AM

Nevertheless, it is not enough to have the most sophisticated recipes and a friction material with the most bite to become a test winner. Only if each individual component is of the same high standard does it become a quality brake pad that does justice to its origin - a company with OE expertise. This is why Honeywell assumes direct control of the production, machining and finishing of all the components that go into its Bendix and Jurid brake pads: friction material, backplates, shims, springs and sensors. It doesn't matter where any one of the around 80 million brake pads is produced, the quality from Condé in France, from Glinde near Hamburg in Germany or from the Spanish locations Alcala and Barcelona, is always based on the requirements and standards of OEMs.
